Espresso Stand Going In Italian Spaghetti House Lot

Today, a new espresso stand was being built in the parking lot of the closed Italian Spaghetti House property on Lake City Way. Headrush Coffee hopes to be open for business by June 1st said owner Zach Head, who will run the stand along with his brother. The free-standing building won’t need any plumbing and will tap electricity directly from the main power line. Head negotiated using the disused space, a deal by the new owners of the property to make some income from the empty building and surrounding lot which they purchased earlier this year after the restaurant closed in 2011.

Sadly, I believe this is going to be a bikini barista stand. We really don’t need anymore of this. Send a letter to the city if you agree and ask that they limit business licenses for “negative commerce” on LCW!

  2. Ryan says:

Eli, are the Heads the same people who run the Bikini Hut in Mountlake Terrace? If not, what is the basis of your accusation? Do you have any evidence?

  3. ap says:

Just drove by today and it is a bikini espresso. It’s too bad because I would go to it if it was a regular espresso stand.

I was really, really disappointed and grossed out to learn that it was a bikini stand. I’d be there almost every day if it were simply about good coffee. Why does someone think it’s a good idea to alienate a good half of coffee drinkers? So stupid. I’m really angry about this as I live a half a block away and have a daughter. No way in hell am I going to support this BS.
