Per this article in The Seattle Times, the Woodland Park Zoo has created a website called Carnivore Spotter where members of the public can contribute sightings around their neighborhood of coyotes, foxes, etc.
Last week I stepped out of my house at 7 AM to see rather large golden brown coyote in my backyard. Upon seeing me, it casually pranced back down to the Thornton Creek greenbelt. I called up the Carnivore Spotter on my phone and added the sighting (no photo, alas).
It’s a fun (and interactive) way to see what sort of wildlife exists here in the city. Check it out.
