Here are events in and around Victory Heights in August:
Thursday, August 3rd: Northgate Pedestrian Bridge Open House.  Hear the latest about the span over I-5 that will connect North Seattle College with the new Link Light Rail station.  5:30 PM – 7:30 PM, Hampton Inn & Suites, 9550 1st Avenue NE.
Saturday, August 5th: Lake City Pioneer Days Parade. 7 PM in Lake City, as it has been for over 5 decades.
Sunday, August 13th: Idriss Mosque 16th Annual All American BBQ. The coolest structure in Victory Heights open its door to its neighbors for this BBQ which will feature hamburgers, hot dogs and vegetarian options. 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM, 1420 NE Northgate Way.
Saturday, August 19th: 15th Annual Jokumfest. Victory Heights’ own annual free jazz festival is again in Gary Schudie’s backyard, live music from 3 PM until 9:50 PM. Beer available, bring a side dish. 2021 NE Northgate Way.
Wednesday, August 23: Thornton Natural Drainage System drop-in presentations. Here updates from the project team and chat one-on-one.  Two locations: 23rd Avenue NE at NE 105th St, and 30th Avenue NE at NE 87th St. 4:00 PM – 6 PM.
Saturday, August 26th: Standard Bakery Opening. The pop-up bakery will have a permanent location up in Pinehurst at 11752 15th Avenue NE. Their grand opening is 10 AM – 2 PM with samples of fresh baked good, live music, and a bouncy house.
