Metro Transit is updating its schedule on Saturday, August 29th with service changes that will affect–for the better–bus access in Victory Heights.
The 72 Is Back
Route 72 has returned, it will now start at the Link Light Rail station at NE 145th Street, then down Lake City Way past Victory Heights, then 25th Avenue NE to Montlake and through the UW campus. It will run every 10 minutes during weekdays, less frequently on weekends.
New Route 77
New Route 77 will start near Bitter Lake at NE 145th St and Roosevelt, then cross the city at NE 125th/130th past the new Pinehurst Link Light Rail Station, and then Lake City Way past Victory Heights, then Roosevelt, through the UW campus to Children’s Hospital. It will run every 15 minutes seven days a week.
Route 372 Is Eliminated
Direct service from the U District, past our neighborhood, and to Kenmore and Bothell has been eliminated. Service will be taken up by the Sound Transit Express 522 (which you will have to catch either down by the Growler Guys or in Lake City), the commuter line 322 on Northgate Way, or a combination of 72 or the 77 and then transferring to a suburban bus.
No Changes To Route 61
Route 61 will continue to serve Victory Heights along Northgate Way, connecting it to Lake City and Greenwood via the Northgate Link Light Station. It runs every 15 minutes.
