Another Successful Victory Heights Potluck Social

On Tuesday night, around 150 residents of Victory Heights gathered for the fifth year in a row for a potluck/ice cream social organized by the Victory Heights Community Council.
There were display tables and representatives from SDOT, and even a few people there playing Pokemon Go! Neighbors got a chance to chat with each other as they consumed the shared food and free ice cream bars. One reason for this event was to create awareness of Neighborhood Night Out in two weeks on Tuesday, August 2nd, when residents are encouraged to meet the people on their street and discuss strategies for emergency preparedness and knowing who is in their particular neighborhood. In previous years our potluck social would be on NNO night, but we wanted to move it off that date to facilitate more intimate street gatherings on the 2nd.
