The annual Neighborhood Night Out is Tuesday, August 5th this year, a do-it-yourself event you hold with the folks on your street to get to know each other and connect. It’s easy to do, just set up in someone’s yard, or block your street off (legal on this day) and invite your neighbors. It doesn’t have to be on the 5th but getting to know who you are neighbors is a great way to build community as well as being able to recognize familiar faces, or know who to reach out to in case of an emergency.

The Victory Heights 12th Annual Potluck/Free Ice Cream Social is moving to August this year and will be held on Tuesday, August 19th on NE 106th Street next to the park from 6 PM to 7: 30. The Victory Heights Community Council will set up tables along the closed street and provide disposable plates, napkins, flatware and cups. All neighbors are invited to bring a chair, a beverage and a dish to share as we gather and socialize. The Victory Heights Community Council will be providing free ice cream for all who attend (while supplies last). This annual event draws over 100 people and typically features displays from local neighborhood associations, and if we are lucky, a fire truck for the kids to check out. Bring the whole family!
This event is brought to you by the Victory Heights Community Council, which relies on your donations in order to put on events (and buy insurance) for this, Food Truck Fridays, and rent the San-i-Can in the park. We’ll have a jar for donations or you can do it right now via Square: Square Donation Page on the Victory Heights Website. Thanks for our support!
