Fiber Optic Gigabyte Internet Coming To Victory Heights

CenturyLinkCenturyLink is currently installing fiber optic cable up 20th Avenue NE which will soon provide internet service to customers in Victory Heights with 1GB per second download speeds.  Currently, the only alternative to Comcast for internet is CenturyLink’s present DSL service which tops out at 2.61 Mbps due to our long distance to their exchange on NE 65th Street.  But with fiber optic cable, distance will not be a factor. After all the cable is strung, it will have to be spliced and tested, with an estimated roll-out for service to customers around summer. Residents will no doubt be contacted by CenturyLink for offers to upgrade, which probably won’t be as cheap as DSL but promises fast service and an option to Comcast.
UPDATED APRIL 14th: Dale Burnett, the Construction Project Administrator at CenturyLink says,

“We are hoping to complete by the end of May.
Feel free to post my name and cell 425-516-3023 on your blog.
If anyone in your neighborhood is interested in the service just have them call me with number and address.
I will then reach out to them when its available.”
