Ryther Swim Suit Drive’s First Year Shows Promise

At this month’s meeting of the Victory Heights Community Council, it was announced that around 10-15 swimsuits were purchased off the Amazon wish list we set up and donated to the kids at the Ryther Children’s Center on NE 95th Street.

A thank you card from the residents was given to the Victory Heights neighborhood during last summer’s ice cream social. The hope is to do the drive again next year, although starting it a bit earlier so there will be suits for the entire summer.

In other news, the Victory Heights Community Council is going to begin delivering Welcome Wagon packets containing cards chocked full of useful information to any new residents we become aware of (drop us a line if you know any).

Upcoming events include an Earthquake Ready workshop on Tuesday, October 22nd at 7 PM. Sign up here to RSVP.

“Stop The Bleed” on Saturday, November 2nd at the Meadowbrook Community Center starting at 10 AM.

Mark your calendar for Gingerbread House decorating parties on December 7th and 15th starting at 10 AM.

Our next meeting is Tuesday, November 19th, please bring new socks only (no used ones) for the North Precinct sock drive.
