The second annual Victory Heights Chili Cook Off, held last Sunday the 13th, featured six different chili recipes, cookies, and so much corn bread!
Held across the park on 19th Avenue NE (where the food trucks were parked last summer), loads of neighbors (and their kids and dogs) turned up to sample and vote on their favorite. And the winner was…
…Ann’s Chocolate Chili (beating out last year’s champion Andrew by a nose).
The previously scheduled Community Clean-Up on Northgate Way was moved from the 13th to this Sunday, November 20th from 9 AM to noon. Meet at Northgate Way and 19th Ave.
– We’ll move on to the Victory Heights Park quickly if the Community turns out!
– The loop path needs to be raked before it gets too slippery.
– Leaves can be mulched instead of raked if you can bring a mulching mower.
– Bring work gloves, your favorite garden tools, and a water bottle.
And the November meeting of the Victory Heights Community Council is cancelled (no news and no guests) but we’ll be back on Monday, December 19th at 7 PM on Zoom (email us to get on the mailing list).
And don’t forget that because of the Thanksgiving holiday, trash collection in Victory Heights will be on Friday the 25th this week.
